In a Nutshell...

Experience the peace and beauty of Finland’s Nuuksio National Park. You’ll canoe the park’s calm lakes, hike through green forests, and try stand-up paddle boarding (SUP). Top it off with a unique night in a tent suspended above the forest floor. Bliss.

Much Better Adventures offer this hassle-free mini adventure which includes a guided canoeing and hiking experience, a guided SUP experience, one night of accommodation at a hotel and a treehouse-style tent, most meals and a professional, local, English-speaking guide.

The package also includes entrance to the park and centre, airport transfers, transport between activities as well as all canoeing, SUP and camping equipment - so you can just rock up with a rucksack.

You’ll stay in a 2-person Tentsile tree tents which are low-impact and have a low carbon footprint. The tents are suspended one or more meters above the ground. The lakeside campsite provides campfires, an eco-toilet, bottled water, sleeping bags, towels, and easy access to the Haltia Nature Centre for breakfast.

When can I go on this trip?

You can book this active weekend from June to early September. From mid-August onward the nights get darker, revealing starry skies and sometimes even auroras—if you’re really lucky.

What skills/experience/fitness do I need?

No particular level of fitness is needed to enjoy this trip. Just bring a sense of adventure and a willingness to try new things! No previous canoeing or SUP experience is needed.

Who else goes on Epic Weekends like this?

Epic Weekends are very social in nature and we’ve seen lots of new friendships born out of them. The trips run in groups of approximately 8 people. Expect a mix of like-minded solo travellers all with a shared appreciation of escaping the city for the great outdoors to try something new and meet new people.
