In a Nutshell...

A new springtime yoga and wellbeing retreat is launching on the Channel Island of Guernsey, offering a weekend residential escape from Friday 5 May to Sunday 7 May 2017.

Based at Les Cotils, an elegant Victorian house close to Guernsey's capital St Peter Port, the Guernsey Yoga and Wellbeing Retreat includes multiple yoga sessions across three days featuring asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), guided meditation and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation), beginning on Friday afternoon. The yoga takes place against a beautiful coastal backdrop with sea views over to the neighbouring islands of Herm and Sark. The classes are suitable for all levels of ability except absolute beginners.

Healthy vegetarian meals are included in the weekend break and make the most of Guernsey's fresh and local produce, while herbal teas are offered before every class and unlimited wholesome snacks to keep energy levels high across the three days.

There is also free time during the programme, where guests can go for a walk along Guernsey's stunning coastal paths, enjoy the peace of Les Cotils' 12 acres of gardens, or take part in an optional guided run or walk to experience another perspective of the island. At an additional cost, guests can book a reflexology session or channel their creativity with a jewellery session with local experts.

The Guernsey Yoga and Wellbeing Retreat is the first residential break in Guernsey run by local yoga specialists, Beinspired, which offers a regular schedule of yoga classes and workshops on the island. The retreat is run by Guernsey-born Emma, whose passion for yoga, Reiki and wellbeing has taken her all over the world. Having qualified as a Yoga Alliance registered teacher in Byron Bay, Australia, Emma has continued her studies with an Advanced Yoga Teaching (Hatha Yoga) Diploma and a Diploma in Yoga Therapy from the British School of Yoga. She has also completed two levels of the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy training in Canada.

The retreat is priced from £255 per person, which includes all yoga sessions, two dinners, two breakfasts and one lunch, herbal teas and unlimited snacks. Single rooms at Les Cotils for the two nights are priced from £100. For more information and to book, visit and
